Question 1

How do I calculate the ROI of AI for my business?

Accepted Answer

Add up the fully-loaded annual cost of the work AI will absorb (salaries plus employer NI, pension, tooling, management and cover), subtract the AI's run cost (WayaNerd managed AI starts at £600/year), and divide the net saving by your build/setup cost to get ROI. This calculator does the maths from your inputs and shows annual saving, payback period and ROI.

Question 2

What's a typical payback period for AI in an SME?

Accepted Answer

For well-scoped first-line automation (customer support, invoicing, data entry), UK SMEs typically see payback in 3–6 months, and many replace 1–2 first-line hires within the first quarter. Higher-volume, repetitive workflows pay back fastest.
